ABOUT

Every June, Opava’s historic centre transforms into a vibrant hub of music, literature, theatre, and thought-provoking lectures and debates. Slunovrat festival brings together leading Czech and international musicians, writers, scientists, and public figures, creating a truly unique atmosphere in the city’s most distinctive spaces. Different genres, generations, and ideas come together, making Slunovrat a place of true discovery.

The festival is known for its openness and friendly spirit. Whether you’re drawn to alternative music, literary discussions or contemporary circus, you’ll always find something here that speaks to you. Alongside the main stages, the Kofola Welcome Stage showcases emerging talent, while the Charity Inspiration Zone features non-profit organizations. The magic doesn’t stop there – events unfold in some of Opava’s most breathtaking venues, from the stunning Gothic Church of St. Wenceslas to the historic building of the Silesian Museum.

Winter Edition

When November arrives, Slunovrat returns in a more intimate setting. Over two days, the Winter Edition fills Opava with concerts, theatre performances, and engaging discussions, bringing you the same spirit of connection and high-quality programming as the summer festival – just on a smaller scale. Perfect for anyone who feels that one Slunovrat a year is not enough.
